Project “Punarjeeva” was piloted by the Old Anandians’ 2016 Group to assist the front-line workers in pandemic relief efforts. With this intention in mind, the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Colombo was selected as the recipient institution, due to it being a central institution of COVID-19 treatment efforts. All donations were provided by members of the Group, which were then utilised in purchasing the required materials. On the 18th of July 2021, representatives of the Old Anandians’ 2016 Group visited the IDH and handed over the donations to the Deputy Director and other staff members of the hospital. The donated items included PPE Kits, Face Masks, Head and Shoe Covers, Face Shields and Towels.
